Regulatory Safety & Health Officer

Job DescriptionJob Purpose or Objective(s):
Responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive tribal policies, standards, codes, Acts, and strategies to build technical competencies that deliver a safe and healthy workplace culture across the Choctaw Nation.
Primary Tasks:
Develop and create occupational safety and health standards, policies, and regulations that are current with regulatory standards consistently seen as best practice across similar organizations.
Develop tribal employment safety policies and safety standards of work to assure compliance with Choctaw Nation health & safety, to eliminate or control health & safety risks in the workplace, and prevent associate injuries and illnesses.
Collaborate with the safety operations team, troubleshooting, adapting and deploying safety strategies/tactics to the breadth of businesses across the Choctaw Nation.
Lead and develop talent consistent with the expectations of the Risk Management Leadership Initiatives.
Leverage senior level expertise across the Choctaw Nation to provide cost-effective technical guidance and strengthen technical competency.
Develop safety assessments of tribal wide workplace safety with Choctaw Nation policies through policy and workplace audits, policy gap analysis, and workplace hazard analysis.
Promoting continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures through tactical and strategic planning in line with tribal wide goals and initiatives.
Act as a subject matter expert in regulatory safety standards, safety best practices, and safety management systems.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Official Health & Safety Technologist (OHST) Expert knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently or in a group and manage priorities Strong communications skills, both verbal and written Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) 7 Years' experience in occupational safety & health TARGET Masters Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Certified Safety Professional Certification (CSP) Expert knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently or in a group and manage priorities Strong communications skills, both verbal and written Microsoft Office Certification (Word, Excel, and Power Point) 10 Years' experience in occupational safety & health About the Choctaw NationThe Choctaw Nation is the third-largest Indian nation in the United States, with over 200,000 tribal members and more than 11,000 employees.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
